THE TEAM

With 150+ years combined experience, our team is led by Michelle Hernandez who has practiced yoga for 34 years and tought for 14. Every member of the wellness team contributes different styles of yoga and therapeutic modalities, offering our guests a complete and enriching experience.

THE RESORT

We are located in southern Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where the Sierra Madre jungle meets the Pacific Ocean, and approximately 25 minutes from the airport. The resort consists of several treehouse villas perched on a hillside, engulfed in jungle, and overlooking the ocean.

THE ROOMS

You will be roomed in one of our 5,000 sqft villas. Each villa offers wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling retractable glass walls that open to views of the ocean, jungle, gardens, and/or pools. We offer four room configurations ranging in size from 260 to 1,500 sqft.

THE FOOD

Every day you will receive gourmet, vegetarian, breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Treehouse Restaurant. You will also have access to Treehouse Coffee in between meals where you can enjoy espresso drinks and healthy snacks - all included. Not vegetarian? Neither are 95% of our guests and they rave about our menu.

THE YOGA

Yoga and meditation practice takes place twice daily - sunrise and sunset sessions. Every class is taught by a different teacher offering different perspectives and styles of yoga. Classes are offered al fresco in our rooftop studio overlooking the jungle and ocean.

THE SPA

Included in your retreat package, you will receive our signature Ananda 50-minute massage and you can also book additional massages, facials as well as manicure and pedicure services from our spa menu.

THE PROGRAMMING

In addition to yoga and meditation, your retreat includes a variety of workshops, ceremonies, and rituals led by our wellness team including sound bath, pranayama, ice bath, sound circle, etc. to further guide you to reconnect with yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally.

THE FRIENDSHIPS

Friendship is not something we promote but it is something that naturally develops at Beyond: guests arrive as strangers and leave as friends, sometimes staying in touch for years, and sometimes reuniting at our resort.

THE EXCURSIONS

Your retreat includes a guided tour of Los Arcos National Marine Park where you’ll snorkel among tropical fish and the occasional sea turtle, manta ray, whale, or dolphin. You’ll also be guided on a hike to Quimixto Water Fall, a remote island destination with a population of 300 that can only be reached by boat.

  • Beyond offers an exceptional yoga retreat with 14 great yoga classes offered by many different teachers, each of them being amazing! Quality is the word that comes to my mind when I think about the yoga, but also the workshops, activities (hike and snorkeling) and ceremonies. People there, gardners, cleaners, kitchen people, workshops/ceremonies/yoga teachers, musician and spa ladies were always smiling, nice and best in class in their own field of work!   • Truly a life changing experience. A total body, mind and spirit rejuvenating opportunity. Our group of 13 ladies came together for each other and created a bond which will take us beyond yoga. The food was amazing and allowed our bodies to cleanse and “heal”. The newly added treetop cafe was a great place to hang out and all the staff were super attentive to our needs.   • Yes, round trip. You will be picked up and dropped off at Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport in Puerto Vallarta (PVR) before and after your retreat.

  • No, sorry. We only provide transfer to and from PVR.

  • Check-in starts at 3:00pm.

    If you arrive earlier, you are welcome to drop off your luggage and return for check-in. You may also relax by our community pool or in the cafe.

    Check out is at 11:00am. We cannot provide late check-out but we can keep your bags for you until your airport transfer.

  • Beyond is 8 days only. You may arrive one day late and/or leave one day early. However, you will miss programming and the cost is the same.

  • Yes. Most of our guests are solo travelers like you and we find people get the most out of the retreat when they come alone.

  • Yes. When you book a shared room as a solo traveler, we pair you with another solo traveler. You will share the room and bathroom and sleep in your own bed. You will also have access to the common areas in your villa including kitchen, dining area, living room, sundeck, ½ bath and private pool area.

  • No. We only pair same gender.

  • Every room features wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling retractable glass doors that you are welcome to open and close whenever you wish.

  • Outlets in Mexico are the same as in the US and Canada. If you are coming from another country with outlets different to those in the US, you may need an adaptor.

  • We don't serve alcoholic beverages. This is a dry retreat and any alcohol found by staff will be removed from the property.

  • Our retreat is gluten-free friendly and we do our best to accommodate simple requests but cannot offer tailored-made menus.

  • Most of our guests eat meat too but this is a vegetarian retreat and we do not serve meat. If you’re concerned about protein intake, you will be served plenty.

  • Sometimes. If and when they do come, we have provisions ready, including repellant for our guests.

  • Puerto Vallarta is officially the safest beach destination in Mexico according to Mexico's National Urban Public Security Survey. Puerto Vallarta is ranked as Level 1 by the U.S. State Department, meaning Americans don’t need to exercise special precautions when visiting.

    By extension, Beyond provides safe transportation to and from the airport and all activities outside the resort are guided by our staff. Our resort is located in a gated community with 24/7 security and cameras and surrounded by neighboring million+ dollar homes. Since opening in 2017, we’ve had zero security issues.

  • Each villa has a private soaker pool available for the exclusive use of our guests. There is also a large community pool available that can also be used by our guests. 

  • We are located about a 10 minute scenic walk to the beach. You can get directions at the property. Note that we are located on a hill, so for those with mobility or respiratory issues, we recommend taking a taxi or Uber. Beach time is also included on excursion days with round trip transportation.

  • Yes, there is wifi connection in each villa.

  • Yes.

  • Our retreats are a group travel experience. It’s communal nature is diminish when one or more guests don’t attend scheduled activities and meals. If you want to participate selectively, perhaps another retreat may be more suitable for you.

  • We consistently get people of all ages, from 20 to 70 and beyond. However, the most common age range is 30-50.

  • No. Beyond is for adults only.

  • Sorry, no. We are not a retreat center for hire. We have our own wellness and yoga team lead our retreats so we can provide a consistent experience for our guests.

  • Sorry, no. Our retreats are a group travel experience. We’ve never had guests not participate and don’t plan to start. Perhaps another retreat may be more suitable for your needs.

  • We do not but we plan to in the near future.
